Greetings! My name is Layla, and I’m a Master’s degree student of Instructional Technology at the University of South Florida.
A Georgia native, I’m eight years young to the Sunshine State. Some might claim that this makes me a “tourist”, but such is as it is.
In Georgia, I survived a number of public school years before entering college at the ripe young age of 15 through my participation in the Advanced Academy at the University of West Georgia.
After a bout of illness, I continued my studies at Florida International University, gaining a love of the Ancient Greeks and a degree in Philosophy. My Attic Greek is fair, my Koine is much better, and my Latin is pretty terrible, but I have something of a fascination with dead Indo-European languages. Would that I’d taken Sanscrit back-in-the-day, but there’s plenty of life left to me, I guess.
From the graphic adventure games of my youth (thank you, Sierra and LucasArts!) to the tinkering of my present degree program, I’ve always had a fascination for technology in education. Please check out my blog to see a smattering of articles and notions that I’ve had my eyes and mind on in recent days.
Wishing you well!
